VERY RARE 19th century 3 fold boxwood & brass stock rule by A. MATHIESON & SON, GLASGOW. Three fold boxwood and brass rule with a calliper end. Marked on the outside in inches. The inside marked out in various scales for ROUD, FLAT and SQUARE iron. I have never seen this rule by Mathieson before in all my years of tool dealing. The rule is a lovely colour and is in pretty decent condition. VERY RARE !!

The front bun is a nice shape and the plane has a large fully enclosed rear handle with full spur. Good length Mathieson Glasgow cast steel blade produces a good mouth. A really nice piece of late 19th century Scottish plane making in very good condition.
