RARE 4" long by 1 1/4" wide miniature bullnose thumb plane of Stanley type design but with a beech infilled rear. Nice shape lever cap with large knurled and inner domed screw. The beech rear infill has been nicely moulded and shaped. Ther plane has what appears to be the original iron which is marked HIBERNIA only which is the trade mark name for Wm. Marples of Sheffield. Whether this is in fact a Wm Marples made plane is open for debate but it is certainly well made. I've not seen a plane like it before. RARE.
