Stunning rosewood infill with fully enclosed rear handle. 1913 patent adjuster. Good length original thick Norris parallel iron and backing iron with 1 1/2" left to the slot. Fine clean little used early post war Norris of London A5 adjustable coffin-shaped smoothing plane in very good original condition. Made around 1946 - 47 this is a really nice early example. Brass lever cap with all original infill and full length original parallel iron. There are signs of the round machining marks to the sides. A Really nice post war example.

There is very minor discolouration / pitting to the sole but it is hardly worth mentioning.

The handle bears the label CHAPMAN TOOLS by STANLEY which indicates this plane was produced shortly after Stanley took over Acorn in the last 1930's. Slight pitting to the sole otherwise like new.
