There is no manufacturers name on it anywhere that I can see, The handle is beautifully made. Everything is there and it all works perfectly.

VERY RARE large size hardwood and brass tailors or glaziers square by KERBY & BRO, 51 FULTON STREET. NEW YORK. USA. 43" by 24" with the longer section beautifully hand engraved in inches. Brass face to one edge and various brass inlays. The square is in reasonably good condition for its age but there is some age related cracks in places. When I tried to do a bit of research into this rule / square I could only find 1 on the web which had been reduced in size.

Set of 8 Gents carving chisels by Henry Taylor of Sheffield (marks feint, only one easily readable) with matching turned beech handles and brass ferrules. A variety of profiles and sizes but mainly small. The widest one is 5/8". The overall lengths of the chisels is around 7 1/2". Minor discolouration to a couple of them but nothing serious, they would sharpen up pretty easily. Pictures show full range of profiles and sizes.

Basically good early example of a William Marples of Sheffield patent ULTIMATUM brass framed ebony brace. The brass frame is nicely marked with all the various markings. The revolving head has the original brass central medallion and the original ivory ring but there is a small old chip to the rim underneath. The chuck part is very good with a tight spring. I am not convinced myself that the central handle is original but having said that it doesn't look like the frame screws have been touche...
