Early Norris of London No. 4 dovetailed steel coffin-shaped smoothing plane in pretty decent condition for its age. Early 1900's. Gunmetal lever cap with original probably walnut infill and near full length old replacement blade by Hearnshaw Brothers of Sheffield which is cast steel. The wood is a lovely colour. The plane is in pretty decent shape although there is a glued crack to the front bun which has also been strengthened by a lovely inlaid German silver shield. 7 1/4" long with 2" wide...

Very heavy 11 1/2" long by 3" wide cast metal panel plane of decent quality. Good clean metal with no pitting and nicely made, over-stuffed walnut infill including open rear handle. Handle is in good condition with no cracks. Good near full length blade by Hearnshaw Brothers of Sheffield. This would plane through anything !!!!

VERY RARE American style rosewood and HALLMARKED SILVER tool pad complete with all the original tool bits inside. Made by A. Garrett & Sons, 63 & 64 Piccadilly, London. The silver part is hallmarked for LONDON 1904 with a makers mark for Andrew Barrett & Sons of London. The rosewood part is stamped; PATENTED NOV. 28th 1893. I can only assume this wonderful quality tool was made for some sort of exhibition. I have certainly never seen one in silver before. RARE !!!!
