Good clean 19th century beech and brass button chuck brace with turned lignum head. Can't see a makers name on it but it is in good tight condition. No wobble to the head and a good tight spring to the chuck. Nice colour.

For an engineer it would be very easy to make and it just screws in place with 2 little screws. Apart from the pointer it is in very good condition.
