Here we have a superb example of early 1700's planemaking in the form of a round moulder. As with many early planes it has been shortened at the front to 9 3/4" length thus sadly no makers name. Huge wide flat chamfers and a lovely early long shaped wedge. Half length original iron. Basically the plane is in very good condition for its age and is a nice colour. Own a piece of history at a reasonable price !!

Pretty decent Spiersof Ayr deovetailed steel coffin-shaped smoothing plane. Gunmetal lever cap with good dark rosewood infill with open rear handle with no cracks and full spur. Near full lenth slightly tapered iron by I Sorby produces a fine mouth. Very minor discolouration and pitting to the metal in places.

1920's vintage Spiers of Ayr 13 1/2" long dovetailed steel panel plane. Gunmetal lever cap with rosewood infill and good length probably original Ward iron. The infill is OK but there is minor wear. The front bun is slightly shaved on the top and the rear handle spur is a little short. No cracks to the handle though and good clean metal. Good users one. 2 1/2" wide blade.
