Very nice 19th century Scottish 14 1/2" long by 2 7/8" wide Traditional pattern cast metal panel plane. Curved cove front, nice shape casting. Gunmetal lever cap with original knurled screw. Superb burr elm infill including lovely shape front bun and fully enclosed rear handle. The handle in very good condition with no cracks and full spur. It looks to me like the whole of the rear infill has been carved from a single piece of wood. Good length thick parallel iron by Robert Sorby of Sheffield...
