Un-common E. Preston & Sons of Birmingham coffin-shaped dovetailed steel smoothing plane. Gunmetal lever cap with Preston makers mark and nicely grained rosewood infill including open rear handle. Apart from a bit of paint on the wood down the mouth part this plane is in pretty decent condition. The rosewood is all good with no problems and the handle has a full spur.
