Well used but still perfectly OK early 1920's Spiers of Ayr dovetailed steel coffin-shaped smoothing plane. Gunmetal lever cap with original rosewood infill. Rear open handle with no cracks but the spur is worn. Original Spiers backing iron with old replacement HIGH SPEED STEEL thick parallel iron stamped M. M. M. Longlife. 2 1/4" wide blade. Good tight mouth. Good clean metal. Well used but still perfectly OK.
