Good early, 19th century. Spiers of Ayr 13 3/4" long dovetailed steel panel plane in very good condition for its age. Gunmetal lever cap with the earliers small upside down Spiers stamp. Stunning dark rosewood infill with fully enclosed rear handle. Original backing iron but with a full length old replacement blade by Mawhood of Sheffield which produces a fine mouth. Pretty decent 1920's Spiers of Ayr dovetailed steel, coffin-shaped smoothing plane in good original condition. Gunmetal lever cap with scroll script stamp and nice clean rosewood infill with open rear handle. No cracks or damage to the rear handle and it also has its full length spur. Original Spiers parallel iron and backing iron. RARE early 10 1/4" long probably Scottish double iron cove and scotia moulder. It looks to me even at 10 1/4" long that both ends have been slightly shortened / shaved. Great profile plane, I always like this mould. Both irons are good length. One wedge has a hairline crack. Fabulous colour and patination. RARE FIND !!!!

VERY RARE full length 1 3/4" wide Stanley type blade by Robert Sorby of Sheffield. As far as I was aware Robert Sorby didn't make a number 3 size plane or a compass plane so I don't know what this blade was for other than competition for Stanley and Record in the spare blade market. Slight discolouration but nothing serious.
