Superb late 19th century Scottish, parallel sided, solid gunmetal smoothing plane in very good condition. Gunmetal lever cap with beautifully shaped, over-stuffed mahogany infill with fully enclosed rear handle. The rear handle with no damage and full spur. The plane retains its original very thick parallel iron by Hearnshaw Brothers of Sheffield which is cast steel. Good mouth. This is a beautiful, heavy plane that would grace any workbench. 2 1/4" wide blade.
