Superb, beautifully looked after, 1920's Spiers of Ayr dovetailed steel smoothing plane. Parallel sided form with gunmetal lever cap and open rear handle. The plane retinas its original James Howarth thick parallel iron which produces a fine mouth. This plane is in wonderful original condition. The rear handle is perfect with no cracks and full spur and the front bun is also in very good condition with the top free of any bashing.
